The Hawai‘i Department of Health is offering guidance to help families have a safe and fun Halloween. Encourage safe Halloween activities by sharing these infographics with friends and family.

Vaccine Holiday Reminder

There are more than 400,000 Hawai‘i residents who are not fully unvaccinated. We encourage those 12+ to get the free COVID-19 vaccine along with their annual flu shot. Plan to get both shots by Halloween! Get yours today! HawaiiCOVID19.com/vaccine. #HalloweenSafety #HawaiiCOVID19

Mask Holiday Reminder

This Halloween, wear masks that snugly cover your nose and mouth as part of your Halloween costume. Avoid plastic masks with holes unless they are made of two or more layers of breathable fabric that fit with no gaps around the face. 🤙🎃Mahalo for celebrating Halloween safely!

Gatherings Holiday Reminder

Consider the risks and choose safer, alternative ways to celebrate this holiday. Participate in outdoor activities and avoid crowded indoor spaces.

Trick-or-Treating Holiday Reminder

Looking forward to trick-or-treaters on Halloween? Here are 3 tips to keep you and visiting keiki safe.
1. Remember to limit treats to individually wrapped treat bags. This reduces the number of people who would typically touch items in a communal bowl.
2. If possible, place treats on a table in your driveway or yard to avoid crowds at your front door.
3. Maintain at least 6 feet of distance from the treats. Place a few mini pumpkins 6 feet apart to mark where trick-or-treaters can line up safely while waiting for treats. #HalloweenSafety #HawaiiCOVID19

Hand Hygiene Holiday Reminder

When planning your Halloween activities, follow safe practices. Keep your distance and limit contact with people that you don’t live with, wear a mask and wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. 🙌 Parents should examine treats before consumption. #HalloweenSafety #HawaiiCOVID19

Symptoms Holiday Reminder

🎃 Do not attend celebrations or participate in activities if you feel even mildly sick, or if you have come into close contact with someone who has COVID-19. Get tested and stay home to quarantine. If you do not feel well or if you test positive, stay home to isolate yourself regardless of your vaccination status. #HalloweenSafety #HawaiiCOVID19
