Department of Health: Two Additional Deaths Reported Today DOH reported an additional two COVID-19 deaths today. Both involved men who had underlying conditions. The first was a man from Honolulu, between 70 to 79 years old. The other was over 80 years old, from Kaua‘i. DOH also reported 108 new COVID-19 cases today. A total of 93 of those cases are on O‘ahu, including 46 cases from a cluster at Waiawa Correctional Facility that was previously reported yesterday. Hawai‘i Department of Health offers nursing homes grants to buy visitation equipment for in-person visits

HONOLULU – The Hawai‘i Department of Health is making Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funds available to Medicare-certified skilled nursing facilities to acquire visitation equipment for in-person visits from relatives and friends. A total of $135,000 is available. Governor’s Office: 15th Emergency Proclamation Extends Statewide Mask Mandate Yesterday, Gov. Ige issued a 15th COVID-19 emergency proclamation which extends and clarifies the statewide mask mandate which has been in place since April 25. Bottom line for face coverings is: Everyone shall wear a face covering over their nose and mouth when in public. The proclamation also directs businesses to refuse entrance or service to anyone who fails to wear a face covering, unless an exception applies. The state will accept COVID-19 test results from the new partners starting Nov. 17.
