Hawai‘i Attorney General special agents visit 3,200 hotel rooms for quarantine compliance checks

HONOLULU – Since August 2020, Special Agents of the Hawai‘i Department of the Attorney General’s Investigation Division have conducted quarantine compliance checks, primarily at Waikīkī hotels, to ensure traveler compliance with COVID-19 emergency rules. To date, there have been 55 arrests for travel self-quarantine violations. But the primary focus of these operations is to educate travelers and to touch base during their quarantine periods and to address incidences of travelers attempting to work around the system. Quarantine & testing urged after youth football cluster identified

HONOLULU – The Hawai‘i Department of Health (DOH) urges anyone who attended a recent youth football tournament on the mainland to get tested for COVID-19 and to quarantine. Teams involved in the Pylon Mecca 7v7 tournament played games in Utah and Nevada. To date seven people who have returned to Maui and six people who have returned to O‘ahu have tested positive. Collaborative, multi-agency effort underway to reach vulnerable, hard-to-reach Hawai‘i residents

Vaccine eligibility expands to people age 50 and older on O‘ahu

Free rapid COVID-19 testing at UH West O‘ahu, March 19 & 20

HONOLULU – The Hawai‘i Department of Health (DOH) has partnered with the University of Hawai‘i to offer 150 free COVID-19 rapid tests each day at its West O‘ahu campus in Kapolei today and Saturday, March 19 & 20.
