Office of the Governor: Governor Announces Additional Unemployment Funding   Gov. David Ige has announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), has approved the State’s application to participate in the unemployment insurance plus up program, called the Lost Wages Assistance Program. On Friday, Gov. Hawai‘i Department of Health issues first red placard to Hawai‘i Island food service establishment for violating COVID-19 guidance resulting in one-day closure

HAWAI‘I - The Hawai‘i Department of Health (DOH) Food Safety Branch issued a red placard to Anahkahna Inc., dba The Korner Pocket Bar and Grill, located at 81-970 Haleki‘i Street, Kealakekua, on Hawai‘i Island. The food service establishment was forced to closed on Monday, Aug. 24, 2020, but was allowed to reopen the next day after a follow-up inspection. Department of Health: Four Additional Deaths Reported and 306 New COVID-19 Cases Three O‘ahu women and one (1) O‘ahu man, all who had been hospitalized with underlying medical conditions raise the coronavirus death toll in Hawai‘i to 55. Two of the women are in the 70 to 79-year-old age group and the other woman and the man are 80-years or older. HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu’s “stay-at-home, work-at-home” order announced yesterday by Mayor Kirk Caldwell allows private educational institutions to operate as essential functions, as long as they (1) comply with Social Distancing Requirements to the extent applicable and reasonably possible; (2) comply with the face covering requirements; and (3) implement distance learning to the greatest extent possible. State and County partnership builds capacity for isolation and quarantine rooms

HONOLULU – The City and County of Honolulu and the Hawai‘i State Department of Health (DOH) have joined forces to activate a coordinated plan to address the needs of O‘ahu families and individuals in need of resources to isolate and quarantine themselves to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The Department of Health has partnered with the City and County to provide intake and support services for isolation and quarantine and the City has executed a contract with a local hotel to provide an additional 130 rooms for isolation and quarantine on O‘ahu.
